The apartment is located in the heart of Padova, close to the quiet Eremitani square, characterized by its elegant and sober church and monumental trees. The square represents a meeting point between history, art, and everyday city life, framed by important medieval and Renaissance buildings. The entire surrounding neighborhood reflects this rich atmosphere, with a lively mix of shops, bookshops, and cafés.

The project was developed around two main themes: materials and natural light.

By restoring the existing marble and wooden floorings and introducing new surfaces in Grigio Alpi Vicenza stone -together with custom walnut wood furniture- the design establishes a dialogue between existing and newly added materials. Particular attention was given to natural light and air circulation, which were enhanced through the selective removal of partitions and the careful placement of bespoke furniture elements. These interventions allow light and air to flow freely through the spaces, creating a bright, open, and harmonious living environment. Together with the whole furniture, the project turns out as a vibrant space.

MATERIALS
Natural and textured materials represent the core of the project. The existing marble flooring in Breccia Damascata dialogues with Grigio Alpi Vicenza stone, together with the neutral light color resin and walnut custom furniture. For the bedrooms, the exhisting wooden flooring has been restored, as well.

philosophy

A complex research which aims to highlight the quality of architecture over any other aspect. We believe that architecture plays a meaningful role in society and that architects should be able to share the beauty they manage to create through their works, in a well mannered and considerate way: free of distractive advertisements and unpleasant commercials. Complesco is therefore a focused platform that wishes to take architecture to the highest level of consideration, believing that an appropriate selection will win over quantitative and generic architecture that is taking over the places we inhabit. Complesco is a tool to stop cheap apathy and indifference, towards a possible future of surrounding beauty.
