The existing space is located in a stone building. Our goal was to reveal its generous volumes, previously concealed by past renovations: a high ceiling, typical of Lyon’s ground floors, as well as a stone wall.
The interior scenography is based on a system of stain-less steel shelves and hanging rails, combined with floor-to-ceiling tensioned ropes. These elements create airy, functional, and decorative lines that structure the visitor’s journey. This system is modular, allowing the store to adapt to evolving needs.
To enhance spatial fluidity, we avoided traditional low storage units. Instead, a central island gathers storage and serves as a display support. At the back, the fitting rooms are framed with layered fabrics in cream and burgundy—the signature colors of the Hast brand— creating a soft transition between the open retail space and the private fitting area.
The storefront, a true opening onto the shopping street, plays a key role in this staging. The stone piers and lin-tel, characteristic of Lyon’s ground floors, had been co-vered with low-quality wood paneling. These elements have been carefully restored and left in their raw state, reinforcing the site’s authenticity and local heritage while creating a seamless visual connection between the exterior and interior of the store.
